On the 10 March morning, Lin Zeyu, full-time executive vice chairman and secretary-general of GDSSMPA, Huang Gengyan, deputy secretary-general and Isabella Wang visited Consulate General of the Republic of India in Guangzhou. Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal, the Consul General and Mr. T.J. Suresh, the Consul (Commerce) & Head of Chancery gave them warm reception.    

Firstly, Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal welcome Mr. Lin’s visiting, he gave a brief introduction of India economic development and steel production. According to Mr. Y. K. Thangal, with large population, India now is developing its infrastructure, which provide steel industry a great opportunity. Besides, with great market capacity and complementary advantages of stainless steel industry, India welcome Chinese delegation visit and invest there.

Mr. Lin highly appreciate Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal’s taking time for meeting them. He gave Mr. Y.K. Thangal an introduction of GDSSMPA and Guangdong Stainless Steel Industry. In addition, he was looked forward to build a platform between China and India stainless steel industry for communication. He added that Guangdong is the important processing and trading distributing center of China stainless steel industry. Stainless steel decorative pipe, stainless steel decorative plate, stainless steel kitchenware and furniture and so on production sectors play an important part on Chinese market. Guangdong province owns many stainless steel industrial base, for example, Foshan, Jieyang, Chaozhou, Yangjiang, Xinxing, XInhui, Kaiping, Zhaoqing and many cities. With large industrial base and under the direct guidance of Guangdong provincial people’s government and the support of Guangdong federation of industry and commerce, GDSSMPA was established on November, 2013. After more than 3 years, it had become an association with great influence and good reputation. “This year, we will actively respond to the one belt one road strategy. We are considering that make a plan of step our member out to the other countries and India is the first place to go. We hope that with the assistance of India consulate, we can make a linkage with your local related organization, chamber of commerce, association and companies. We also hope that we can cooperate with you or related organization in your country to learn newly economic and trade situation, investment conditions, industrial policy, etc. in order to build a bridge for effective commercial docking platform.” said Mr. Lin. 

After listening to Mr. Lin’s address, Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal can not agree more. He expressed that India consul will give support and assistant to GDSSMPA. He hope that GDSSMPA will make a plan for visiting and investigation. "We will try our best to provide all convenient for promoting communication between India related enterprises and your members in order to get win win cooperation of stainless steel industry" said Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal, “We will make full effort to contact local department, association and leading enterprises so that they can connect to GDSSMPA .” He added that they will assist to visa application once GDSSMPA need. In suitable time they will advice India enterprises come to China to have a face-to-face communication with GDSSMPA members.

During the meeting, both sides discussed one belt one road strategy. Mr. Lin invited Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal and Mr. T.J. Suresh to attend the opening ceremony of the 11st Southern China Stainless Steel Exhibition and visit GDSSMPA. What’s more, he gave Stainless Steel Brand magazine and Running Horse souvenir as a present to Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal.
