Lin Zeyu, full-time executive vice chairman and secretary-general of GDSSMPA, Huang Gengyan, deputy secretary-general and Isabella Wang visited Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou on 17 March. 

On the 17 March morning, the secretariat visited Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Aykut AYMELEK, the Commercial Attache gave us a warm reception. Mr. Aykut highly appreciated this visiting. He said:”It is the important step for us to know more about Guangdong stainless steel industry.” Mr. Lin thanks Mr. Aykut’s invitation. He gave an introduction of GDSSMPA and Guangdong Stainless Steel Industry. In addition, he was looked forward to build a platform between China and Turkey stainless steel industry for communication. He added that Guangdong occupies an important position in Chinese stainless steel industry layout. With complete stainless steel industry chain, its has obvious industry base cluster effect, for example, there are huge amount of stainless steel enterprises here and their various stainless steel products sit prominently on domestic and foreign market share. Under the direct guidance of Guangdong provincial people’s government and the support of Guangdong federation of industry and commerce, GDSSMPA was established on November, 2013. Recently, it had become an association with great influence and had gained government’s increased recognition. “In the early years, China stainless steel industry imported raw materials from Japan, Finland, German and so on overseas countries. After more than a decade’s development, China had become the largest stainless steel production and consumption country with its production & technology equipment and stainless steel products quality had had a historic leap.” said Mr. Lin, “As more and more trading and closer cooperation between Turkish and Chinese stainless steel enterprises including our members, also in order to respond to the one belt one road strategy. We are considering that make a plan of step our member out to Turkey. We hope that with the assistance of Turkey consulate, we can make a linkage with your local related organization, chamber of commerce, association and companies. We also welcome that related Turkey chamber of commerce, association and enterprises can visit Guangdong. We will try best to provide commercial docking services and build a platform.”

Mr. Aykut thanks Mr. Lin’s detail introduction. He expressed that Turkey consulate will give support and assistant to GDSSMPA. He said:”Turkey and China are brother countries as both sides had cooperated in commecial, investment and tourism. Many cities in Trukey owns lots of stainless steel processing and producing enterprises, for example, the big city of tourist---Istanbul.” He also expressed that they want to cooperate with GDSSMPA and will send us newly economic and trade situation, investment conditions, industrial policy, etc. During the meeting Mr. Aykut present a brochure of iron and steel to us, he wish we can enhance information exchange. Besides, he welcome Guangdong stainless steel enterprises visit Turkey for commercial cooperation or investigation. Mr. Lin invited Mr. Aykut to attend the opening ceremony of the 11st Southern China Stainless Steel Exhibition and visit GDSSMPA at his convenience. What’s more, he gave Stainless Steel Brand magazine and Running Horse souvenir as a present to Mr. Aykut.  

On the 17 March afternoon, the secretariat visited Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Siti Hajar Hapsari, the consul and Mr. Isamail Fahmi, the vice consul gave us a warm reception. Mr. Lin firstly thanks their taking time to meet us. He gave an introduction of GDSSMPA and Guangdong Stainless Steel Industry. In addition, he was looked forward to build a platform between China and Indonesia stainless steel industry for communication. “Indonesia not only owns rich nickel resource which is the raw material of stainless steel but also have potential stainless steel market. Our member enterprises concern more about related nickel minerals policy.” said Mr. Lin, “Recently, both countries’ cooperation of stainless steel industry  had become closer and closer. Guangdong Century Tsingsang Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. The brother enterprise of our member Guangdong Guangxin Goldtec holdings CO.,ltd. Had already invested a stainless steel project with annual slab output will be 900,000 tons in Morrow Wali county, Sulawesi province, Indonesia.” He added that our member enterprises operate throughout the complete production chain including steel making, steel rolling, surface processing, pipe-making, products, etc. There are also some members selling advanced equipment and services for steel rolling, cutting, pipe-making, surface treatment, welding, polishing, mold designing, packaging, testing and so on. We hope that with the assistance of Indonesia consulate, we can make a linkage with your local related organization, chamber of commerce, association and companies. 

Thanks for introduction made by Mr. Lin, Ms. Siti also gave us a brief introduction of Indonesia. According to Ms. Siti, there are 19 industrial park in Indonesia which with rich nickel mineral resource. As she learned before that lots of Chinese enterprises invested and establish factory in Indonesia, Ms. Siti welcome Chinese enterprises visit Indonesia so much and expressed that the local government will provide some policies and welfare for supporting. “If GDSSMPA want to visit Indonesia, we will provide detail information and make arrangement accordingly.” said Ms. Siti,”We will provide you policies change information.” During the meeting, both sides discussed one belt one road strategy. Mr. Lin invited Ms. Siti and Mr. Isamail to attend the opening ceremony of the 11st Southern China Stainless Steel Exhibition and visit GDSSMPA. What’s more, he gave Stainless Steel Brand magazine and Running Horse souvenir as a present to Ms. Siti.
